Westlakes were appointed as Civil Engineering Design Support for the Iggesund Paperboard £108M 50MW Biomass Plant.
Structures were designed to include concrete basements up to 6m deep, which were built in waterlogged ground, and a complex triangular A-frame store 80m long and 30m high.
The civil layouts were designed around the process layouts and has involved the specialist design of a number of machine foundation bases, our scope was then extended to include the design of further structures as well as highways and drainage, weighbridges and entrance facilities, substations, cable bridges and control facilities.
