Westlakes Engineering were appointed by Gilltown to provide the civil and structural engineering services for a new student accommodation development along North Parade Road, Bath. The site was a car park within the grounds of Bath Cricket Club. Westlakes Environmental were also appointed to provide Geo-Environmental consultancy services.
The development is a new student residential block housing 136 bed spaces over four storeys. The residential units are supported at first floor from a podium structure below which car parking and new indoor cricket club training facilities were provided.
The podium structure is double height over the Indoor Cricket Training facilities, with the gym and plant rooms being formed using hot rolled steelwork framing and insitu concrete composite metal deck flooring.
