SERVICE: Infrastructure
Westlakes were engaged for the delivery of infrastructure elements for a Container Handling Project at the Port of Workington. The Port of Workington is the only container handling facility in the 300 mile or so distance between the Mersey and Clyde.
In addition to a scope including Structural design and assessment, topographical survey, Environmental Action Plan, Site Waste Management Plan and CDM co-ordination, Westlakes were responsible for undertaking a flora and fauna study to establish what was present on the site. To support this a biodiversity management plan was produced, specifically relating to reptiles and blue butterflies, to maintain the environment and habitat during future development.
