Westlakes Nominated for NCE100 2017 Award
Westlakes Engineering has been shortlisted as a finalist in both the talent champion category and SME category of the 2017 New Civil Engineer NCE100 Companies of the Year Awards.
The talent champion award seeks to recognise companies demonstrating commitment to technician and apprentice training and creating an environment where people develop rapidly. It is run by trade title New Civil Engineer with winners announced on 22 June at the Grosvenor House Hotel, London.
In 2016, the company set up an administration work experience scheme to run alongside their existing technical work experience scheme. Their involvement with both the Bright Stars and Dream Placement schemes, run by the Centre for Leadership Performance has seen their involvement with schools increase dramatically. This is the second year in a row that Westlakes Engineering have been shortlisted for the awards.
Mark Hansford, editor of New Civil Engineer commented: “This year’s entries have really raised the bar and prove – if there was ever any doubt – that this industry is doing some incredible things. All 100 firms making the NCE100 have shared with us their philosophy and endeavours and proven that they are driving the industry forward, and we welcome them to the NCE100 Club.”
Westlakes were delighted to be ranked Number 10 on the 2016 New Civil Engineer NCE100 list, the New Civil Engineer’s selection of the top 100 civil engineering practices.
In 2016, in addition to tenth place overall, we also ranked 1st in the ‘Future Engineer’ category and ranked 6th overall in the ‘Engineering Equality’ category.
