Conformity and Safety Assessment Services
Client: Resorts World Sentosa
The Attraction Safety Department provided the role of Conformity Assessment Body to Resorts World at Sentosa PTE Ltd (“RWS”) in June 2009. The project as presented by RWS was a development of an integrated resort at Sentosa, Singapore which included a theme park comprising various show and ride attractions including a number of large roller coasters, water rides and a water park with slides.
The services provided by the Attraction Safety Department were, all conformity and safety assessment services for all devices installed within the resort, ensuring compliance with ASTM F24 standards and the Singaporean Buildings and Construction Authority (BCA) requirements. This involved the independent design review, assessment of conformity to design, factory inspection visits, and commissioning testing.
Since the opening of Universal Studios at Resorts World at Sentosa, Westlakes have subsequently completed the annual inspections under local government guidance and also completed the design reviews and conformity assessment processes on all of the new rides installed year on year.
