As a result of future workload, an exciting opportunity has arisen for a senior civil & structural engineer to join our team in Whitehaven, Cumbria. This team works predominantly in the nuclear sector, undertaking projects for a range of clients from concept, through to supporting partners in demolition, including both design and assessment work. Responsibilities will include:
• Carrying out detailed and construction designs for multi discipline design projects.
• Analysis and design using engineering software such as STAAD and TEDDS as well as producing hand calculations.
• Preparation of Calculations, CDM activities, Basis of Design, Material Specifications, Scopes of Work & Technical reports.
• Capability with and application of current standards (Eurocodes and British standards)
• Structural assessment of existing structures including concrete and steel
Requirements:
• Batchelors or Masters Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering, actively working towards Chartership.
• Experience in the design and assessment of structures in reinforced concrete and steelwork.
• 4- 7 years’ experience in engineering design, ideally within a highly regulated industry.
• Ability to deliver projects to clients to high technical standard and within required timescales.
• Able to guide and influence other engineers regarding technical, timescale and commercial issues on project
• Work as part of a team of Engineers on technical works including originating and checking designs.
