Andy Hooper

Managing Director and founder

Andy Hooper is the Managing Director and founder of Westlakes Engineering Ltd and Chief Engineer for all Nuclear sector work.

Andy is a Civil/Structural/Geotechnical Engineer with extensive experience in the concept and detailed design and assessment of structures. This encompasses work within a variety of sectors, predominately Nuclear, but also including Commercial Property, Petro-chemical, and Infrastructure design such as Ports & Harbours and Roads & Bridges. Andy has 30 years’ experience in Engineering Consultancy.

Chris Pratt

Director

Chris Pratt is the Director of the Manchester Office and Chief Engineer for Westlakes Engineering’s Property Sector work. He established the team in 2009 when we merged with the Manchester team of Robert West Consulting.

Chris is a Chartered Civil and Structural Engineer with over thirty years experience, both in the UK and abroad. This encompasses work in both the public and private sector for the structural design of buildings.  His career has covered many different sectors including commercial property, health, education, leisure, residential, energy and industry as well as defence and secure facilities.

Doug Dadswell

Director

Doug Dadswell is a Company Director and Chief Engineer for Westlakes Engineering’s Attraction Safety Team.  The team joined Westlakes in 2015 where they now operate out of the Manchester Office.

Doug is a Chartered Structural Engineer with over 30 years experience within the Attraction Safety industry.  Doug is extensively involved with all aspects of amusement rides including design, checking and certification of structural, mechanical and control systems.

 

Sue Hooper

Finance Director

Sue Hooper is the Finance Director at Westlakes Engineering.  Sue studied Civil Engineering at Imperial College and switched to Accountancy following graduation.

Following her change in career path, Sue worked in private practice in Manchester, becoming Chartered in 1989, specialising in owner-managed and growing businesses. Following a career break Sue joined the team at Muncaster Castle as Accounts Manager until the formation of Westlakes Engineering in 2004.
